On a sunny afternoon, while lounging in my backyard hammock, I embarked on an exhilarating journey with “The Lost City of Faar audiobook” by D. J. MacHale. As a fan of science fiction and fantasy novels, I was eager to dive into the second chapter of the Pendragon series, and it did not disappoint.
The story follows Bobby, a 14-year-old boy who discovers that his uncle is a Traveler responsible for solving interdimensional conflicts. Bobby’s mission is to save the universe from an impending evil, and he is thrust into the Cloral area, a vast world submerged in water. The floating territories are on the brink of war, and Bobby must navigate this treacherous landscape to uncover the lost land of Faar.
D. J. MacHale’s writing captivated me from start to finish. His ability to create vivid worlds and compelling characters is truly commendable. The Lost City of Faar is a thrilling blend of adventure, suspense, and imagination that kept me on the edge of my hammock.
However, I must mention that the audio narration by William Dufris was a bit disappointing. His nasal voice detracted from the overall experience and made it difficult to fully immerse myself in the story. Despite this drawback, the gripping plot and MacHale’s storytelling prowess more than made up for it.
